Well I am trying to stay focused and prepare for an upcoming craftfair and well as make a bunch of jewellery to post on my etsy site for Christmas shoppers. I really really really need to focus !!! The problem is that everything takes so long to make, that I start it, and then I start something else before finishing the first project hmmmmmmmm!!!! What to do.... lol. I had the family over for thanksgiving dinner. It was my first time hosting and cooking the dinner. It turned out GREAT!! The food was perfect, other than it taking a couple extra hours to cook then I had expected hahaha, and everyone got along!!! That is amazing.

While Im here, I thought I would post a ring I made recently. I made a pendant that I am excited about, but I haven't photographed it yet.

I am sooooo excited. I am now selling my jewellery in a store on 4th ave, called Briers. The hard part is of course parting with all of my jewellery, but I suppose that is why I made it. I haven't actually seen the display yet, but I plan to stop into the store this week and check it out. Its quite motivating, knowing that a store is interested in your work, makes you want to make more and more. A store in Ontario also contacted me about selling out there, but its so far away, I would rather sell close to home for now.

Here a couple new and old things that I have just posted on etsy

Last weekend I went to a wedding. The women all had their hands painted with henna, which was a first for me. I love it, it is so beautiful. I wish my family had more traditions like that. I had pics, but I haven't resized them yet, so I will add them another day. The weeding was sweet, and I nearly cried while watching their first dance. They make an adorable couple.

I have a new ring to post as well. It is made of sterling silver with a resin dome. I don't know what it is, but I love big chunky rings.

I have been working on the photography aspect of my jewelry. You really have to pay attention to the lighting and background. I thought making the jewelry was the tough part! This is a fairly new necklace. I enamelled two copper circles in different shades of blue/green. It works really well with the three strand nylon coated stainless steel necklace I made for it. Under the the cut are a few more pics. All pieces of jewelry can be found on my etsy site a www.sourapple.etsy.com or more my work in progess site at www.sourapple.bigcartel.com

fraxel

Im not looking to hot today. Well I haven't looked too hot for the past couple of days. I went in for a fraxel laser procedure. It gets rid of scars as well as freckles, not that Im trying to get rid of my freckles!!! When you first get into the office they put lidocaine all over your face to numb it, then they give you a drug to relax you. After the numbing has taken affect they drag a laser across your face for about a half hour. Let me tell you, even though your face is numb, you still feel it!!! For some odd reason I couldn't stop shivering. Anyways for the past 3 days my face has been swollen and looks like I have a really bad sun burn. I have to do this 3 more times. Im not even sure why Im doing it, my scars aren't that bad, but Im excited to see how my skin will look once this is all finished.

Hey there, here I sit at the atlantis on Paradise Island. It is beautiful here. Today was an amazingly sunny golden day. Nen and I went on a tour that took us jet skiing, para-sailing, banana boat riding, and snorkeling. The fish were spectacular. So many different fish, big fish, colourful fish, small tiny fish, and the coral, it was all so wonderful. Nen wouldn't snorkel, but thats ok. Yesterday was unreal, we were hoping for a sunny day since it was our first full day on the island. That isn't exactly what we got, we got crazy monsoon rain!!!! Rain like I have never seen before. It was fun. I mean each raindrop was like a bucket of rain falling from the sky. I loved it, but I came for the sun, so I hope it shines. Tomorrow we are going to swim with dolphins. I feel guilty about this because I saw a documentary on the cruelties that go into making these dolphin parks possible. I told Nenad I didn't want to do it and what my reasons were, but he really wants to do it, and I want him to be happy. I mean don't get me wrong I think its going to be amazing to touch a dolphin, I just wish I hadn't seen that documentary.

when we get back from our trip, I have a craft fair to prepare for. I will really have to get busy. Jillybean has been drawing and painting, so we are going to put her work into the show as well. I am excited about this one.

Hey there chic-a-dees ! I think the house has been under construction eight months and counting now! way too long if you ask me, but it should be finished in the next month or so, PAARRTTYYY at my house!

My sister and I are doing a craft fair at the end of April so we have been busy getting things together. I can't wait. Im mostly looking forward to the craft fair because I need a new purse and what better place to buy one then at a craft fair supporting your local crafters!!

I had the flu not too long ago. It was the worst feeling in the world. I know you think I am exaggerating, but Im not. It was so bad, I couldn't get out of bed for two weeks, finally I was so sick of being sick I forced myself to go out for lunch with my one and only Love and what happened?? I will tell you, I fainted, in the restaurant. Of course Nen wanted to get me home so he helped me to the car, only problem was I blacked out again and when I came to, Nen was caring me by the arms and some stranger was carrying my legs, it was slightly emabarrassing, but I was way too sick to care. All better now though :-)

Now I just need to post some of my jewelry, time to get on that.

hope you are all having a good one

Wow its been a while since my last post. Lots has happened, some sad some happy. On a happy note Nen and I went to Montreal for a few days a couple weeks ago. Brrrr it was cold. We visited the Notre Dame church. I have to say it was breath taking. I Can't explain how beautiful it was, and the amount of detail in the entire building was incredible.

We bought the Nintendo Wii lastnight AAAHHHHHH soooooo much fun. Everyone I know came over today to try it out. Let me just say it was a huge hit, and they are all addicted, including myself. I can see myself possibly losing weight from playing it, you work up a sweat!!!

well Christmas has come and gone. Plenty of last minute shopping and family gatherings. Turkey dinner was tasty, even though I don't eat turkey. Once I made tofurkey thinking it might be a good substitute for the real thing.... let me tell you...it wasn't!! Friends of ours got engaged this month. She asked what he wanted for christmas and he pulled out the ring and said "all I want is you". Hmmm when will Nen propose??

It has been an emotional month, with the passing of Nens brother. He was a very loved man, over 500 ppl came to the funeral to pay their respects and say goodbye. He will be missed.

Harsh Times, with Patricia Arquette :P

HARSH TIMES.... What a movie. Pretty crazy if you ask me. I don't know if I could say it was good, good just doesn't seem like the right word for such an intense movie, but I liked it, it definately held my attention. Of course Christian Bale is an incredible actor, and not too bad on the eyes. I think its his teeth that I am intrigued by. So many actors have perfectly fake straight teeth. I love teeth with a little character to them. Have you ever noticed how adorable Patricia Arquettes teeth are, I know its a strange thing, but I have a fascination with teeth. My sis has a smile like Patricia Arquette, and all she has ever wanted was a perfect smile, I personally think her smile is beautiful... silly girl.

Nenads birthday is in a week, so tonight I surprised him and through an eary birthday dinner at Mumbai Masala. I bought him Tickle me elmo extreme! It is the cutest thing ever. William loved it. Maybe Nen and I will get him one for christmas. My Dad did up a cartoon about us as a gift and put it in his comic strip for next monday. I will have to scan it and put it on here. The cartoon is so cute, and very sweet of him to do that for Nenad.

Grandmas birthday is next week, I made her a silver pendant with an enameled copper square behind it. I forgot to take a pic of it, but I liked the design so i plan on making more. I love working with silver and copper.

Good evening ladies and gents. Just sitting here watching "The Hour" Im sure all you Canadian girls think Im crazy, but I hav a little crush on George Stroumboulopoulos. If you haven't seen the show, you should check it out.
On to another topic, I went over to my sis's house today to visit her and Will, My mom stopped by as well, we ordered Japanese food and played a game of scrabble.
Tomorrow Nen and I are heading up to Whistler for the night. No skiing this time, maybe we will get up there later this winter to ski. I haven't actually skiied since I was 13, but I remember it being fun. I think I have given in to my fears as I have aged lol.

renos and crafts

and the renos continue... I went into my craft room today ( aka the garage ) and noticed it has been taken over by the construction workers. They have left all of their tools in there for safe keeping. Im not talking about a few screwdrivers , they have some big heavy duty stuff in there. So much stuff that they have started moving around my silversmithing tools, and other supplies. Oh well, soon they will be gone and I will have a beautiful house to show for it, and my craft room back YYYYIIIIPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Our backyard looks like a war zone. Its actually kind of funny. they hammered away all of the conrete walkway as well as the driveway, then dug giant trenches for the plumbling and electrical cords to be burried in. Basically our yard is mud, and holes. Pretty messy, since we have to enter the house from the backyard. Its fun and exciting to see the progress. They say the house will be done hopefully by the end of november, Im thinking end of December though. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It was such a beautiful day out today. I went to the homeshow just to see what kind of decorations are out there for our house renos, but as far as I can see, I have better ideas than the designers at the show... which isn't saying much for them, or myself lol. There were some great little booths set up with jewelry that I loved. Some very fun creative stuff. I can't wait to one to get a kiln. I have wanted one forever, but the price is up there!!! Im almost tempted to buy one in the states, its so much more affordable, but I don't know what kind of hassle I would have bringing back to Canada. Well I should get back to my craft room and start creating.

I saw "The Departed" tonight. It was ok, but the original was much better. Not that you would know this is a remake, since Hollywood loves stealing foreign movies and calling them their own. The original was a Chinese movie called Infernal affairs, but I think there are a few different titles. Its a great movie.
My little Rileybears has been limping a lot. My Poor puppy dog has had arthritis for a long time, but it seems to be getting worse. If anyone has any ideas or cures for arthritis in dogs, please feel free to leave me a message. He is such a cutie, 11 years old and still looks like a pup, always wanting to cuddle or play tug of war. here he is being swallowed by the couch Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I have been making rings and pendants, trying my hand at etching. Some things turn out the way I want and others, well its all trial and error when crafting. I love the whole process, eventhough some of it is a bit time consuming
